So our best friend was getting married and we were torn between wanting to create the best moments for him vs enjoying all the fun at the wedding. We, of course, chose to do both!
Sandeep has been our friend for so long that he’s practically family; more like an adopted son as Anju likes to call him :p He is the quintessential Jim Carrey of our group and there is not one day that goes without us laughing out loud at his antics. This guy was getting married and we couldn’t, for the life of us, believe that!
We met Megha, the bride, at Bangalore for some shopping for a pre-wedding outdoor shoot and instantly hit it off. We had a lovely time shooting them at some of the best locations inside and outside the city. As with any other couple we work with, we let them be themselves knowing that the chemistry and love would unravel itself with time, resulting in some beautiful portraits against the stunning backdrops.
D-day came and it was a traditional Kerala Hindu wedding; something that we love to shoot due to its pristine simplicity. Sandeep, wearing an off-white silk Kurta and traditional Kasavu Mundu, was welcomed in first by the bride’s brother. After taking the blessings from elders (and of course us friends!) he took his seat on the Mandapam. Megha walked in wearing a gorgeous red and gold Mangalya Pattu Saree holding her father’s hand, while the song Varavaayi Thozhi Vadhuvaayi was playing and joined him at the stage. As Sandeep was tying the sacred knot around Megha, all we could feel was the love and happiness in everyone’s hearts. This was a couple made for each other.
The reception was the next day and we were all pumped up. Anju had planned on welcoming the couple into the hall with a Bollywood dance that she choreographed and she had made us practice for hours together over the last few weeks until we ‘perfected’ the steps. As the couple stepped into the hall and the Love Mashup song started playing, we ushered them in with the dance and were given a huge round of applause by young and old alike. Mission accomplished!!
Love was in the air as our own ‘band‘ performed Sandeep’s favorite Mohanlal songs – the Lalettan fan in him was beaming 😀 After Sandeep’s song dedication to Megha and a duet with his sister Soumya, it was time for the DJ to own the floor. Everyone wore their dancing shoes that day and we had so much fun grooving to the crazy mix of songs the DJ was throwing at us.
Sandeep, thank you for letting us capture your most cherished memories and Megha, welcome to the family!
